Photography & Cultural Exchange Program "My Folk Albums – Hong Kong and Mainland Students go to Shaanxi"

Sponsored by the China Soong Ching Ling Foundation and the China Ethnic & Folk Culture and Arts Exchange Association (HK), five students from the Secondary Division joined the photography & cultural exchange programme "My Folk Albums – Hong Kong and Mainland Students go to Shaanxi", with students from Tsinghua University High School. They interacted with the local students to learn different cultures and characteristics in Shaanxi.

Our students enjoyed the intangible cultural heritage show “Huayin Lao Qiang” and captured old artists’ superb performance and passion for music by cameras. They also visited Emperor Qinshihuang's Mausoleum Site Museum, and pictured the spectacular Terracotta Warriors and Horses.  Besides, students were amazed by the paper-cut performance in Ansai where the artists, with their exquisite craftsmanship, simply cut the papers into a variety of symmetrical and complicated patterns.

Ms. Zhao Jing, the Director of the Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of the State Council, attended a seminar as the guest speaker to exchange views with students on the affairs of China and Hong Kong. In addition, Mr. Hang Yuanxiang, the Secretary and Executive Vice President of the China Soong Ching Ling Foundation, also met with the students during the farewell party and delivered a speech to conclude the wonderful journey.

Through this exchange programme, students learnt to communicate, respect and build confidence from a different cultural environment, and experienced the fun of photography at the same time.
