<<Non-Chinese Speaking Students won an award in 2018/19 Student Talent Competition>>

With the brilliant performance in the Chinese poetry speech, G7 non-Chinese speaking students CAMERON COLHOUN Brooke Marion Lesley and HILL Tiana Sue won the 2nd runner-up in the 2018/19 Student Talent Competition. Organized by the Education Bureau in association with the Yau Tsim Mong District Principals Association, the Sai Kung District Principals Association and the Hong Kong Taoist Association Yuen Yuen Institute No. 3 Secondary School, the competition aims to enhance the interest and confidence of non-Chinese speaking students in learning Chinese and showcase their learning outcomes. This is the first time that Brooke and Sue participated in Putonghua speech competition, as well as their first encounter to the poem “Swallows” (《燕詩》). In preparation for the competition, they stayed after school three times a week, to recite the poem and improve their Putonghua pronunciation. On the day of the competition, the two girls impressed the judges and audience with fluent Putonghua, expressiveness and clear articulation together with lively posture. Congratulations to the award-winning students. We are looking forward to all non-Chinese speaking students achieving more in learning Chinese!
