Moral and Civic Education
The main purposes of Moral and Civic Education are to facilitate students to build positive goals in different life phases, explicit aspirations of their own, a sense of responsibility, a respectful attitude towards others, and positive values, character traits and manners. Through Moral and Civic Education, students will be able to distinguish the right from the wrong, make the objective analysis and reasonable judgments and put what they have learnt into practice to make contribution to their own families, communities and even nations.
Life Education Lessons
Through the weekly lessons of Life Education, we adopt a 4E model to develop a supportive and stimulating school environment where children are encouraged to build their positive attitude and acquire skills that equip them for their future. The model consists of a cycle: Explore, Engage, Experience and Evaluate. The model is implemented on a monthly basis. In Life Education lessons, main themes or values are explored, for example, Christian values, growth mindset, parent-child and peer relationships, etc. We will then engage students by teacher’s sharing. Students are encouraged to put the values into practice in their daily life, and reflect on their experience through A+ Passport and A Diary. Student learning is evaluated through their record in A+ Passport or A Diary. In addition, various activities like exchanges at home or abroad, community visits, public services and educational lectures are regularly held to shape students’ problem-solving skills and ability to build positive values when facing adversity.
