Spiritual Nourishment
Spiritual Nourishment
At A-school, we are dedicated to nurturing well-rounded individuals who excel academically while cultivating strong moral and spiritual foundations. Our collaboration with City One Baptist Church exemplifies our commitment to holistic education, ensuring that our students experience growth intellectually and spiritually, guided by the values and teachings of Christianity.
For over a decade, City One Baptist Church has worked closely with our Christianity Development Team and Christian disciples to provide a range of activities that enhance the spiritual development of our students. These activities include weekly religious sharing, cell groups, training sessions during lunch or after school, training camps, grade talks, workshops, as well as the operation of Christian fellowship and Boys' Brigade.
The weekly religious sharing in the morning assembly covers a wide variety of topics within the domain of religion. They include testimonial sharing, where individuals recount their personal experiences and faith journeys. Additionally, theme-based sharing is aligned with our school's main themes or annual highlights. These sessions incorporate biblical teachings and theological insights, enabling students to gain a comprehensive understanding of Christianity. Through these activities, we aim to nurture our students by broadening their perspectives and mindset regarding Christianity. We believe in the value of expanding their understanding beyond mere Bible stories. By participating in these sessions, students develop a deeper appreciation for the principles and values upheld by Christianity, empowering them to apply these teachings in their daily lives.
Christian discipleship holds a special place in the development of Christianity at A-school. Our dedicated team of Christian disciples plays a unique role in guiding and nurturing young Christians, making it a cornerstone of our Christian development initiatives. Following the Great Commission, discipleship training is always given top priority at our school. We place great emphasis on equipping and empowering young Christians through collaborative efforts in organizing various Christian-related events throughout the school year. These events include significant occasions such as the Christmas Celebration, inter-class hymn singing competition, Easter celebration, and the Baccalaureate service for our graduating students. Additionally, our Christian disciples actively contribute to the organization of important events like the G7 Orientation camp, Chinese cultural day, community services, and vocational Bible school for the Primary Section. Their involvement in these events showcases their commitment to serving the broader school community while instilling Christian values and teachings. Working closely with our team teachers and tutors from the City One Baptist Church (COBC), who act as mentors, our Christian disciples provide valuable guidance and support to fellow students. Through their selfless service, they create an environment conducive to personal growth, allowing students to experience the genuine brotherhood and the unconditional love of God, known as "agape's love".
The "A-prayer" parent volunteer group helps the school in various whole-school events such as Christmas decoration, A-school carnival, Easter celebration, and more. Their professional work behind the scenes is vital and serves as a signature representation of God's love through these events. Prayer meetings and Bible study cell groups are occasionally arranged, with pastoral care provided by pastors from City One Baptist Church. Together, we form a great team to glorify God and follow His teachings:
"If a child is trained up in the right way, even when he is old he will not be turned away from it." Proverb 22:6
