Results of Public Examinations 2017-2018
The Hong Kong Baptist University Affiliated School Wong Kam Fai Secondary and Primary School is the first through-train school affiliated to a university in Hong Kong. 2017-18 was an extremely exciting year for us as we saw the graduation of the first batch of through-train (Grade 1 to Grade 12) students. Both the graduates taking the local curriculum or international curriculum achieved flying colours in the 2018 Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education (HKDSE) Examination and General Certificate Education Advanced Level (GCEAL) Examination respectively. In 2017-18, there were 127 students (114 DSE candidates and 13 GCEAL candidates) sat the examinations. A summary of the results is as follows:
HKDSE Examination
Our graduate class hit a home run in the 2018 Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education (HKDSE) Examination. Three quarters of our students secured JUPAS entry requirements for degree programme. The passing rate of all subjects was almost 100%. Comparing with last year, the percentage of attaining Level 5**, Level 5* and Level 5 increased one fold.

GCEAL
Our first batch of international curriculum graduates attempted the 2018 GCEAL exams and achieved flying colours. Of all students, 62% obtained straight A (A*/A). With the outstanding results of 2017 GCE Advanced Subsidiary Level Examination, each student already received at least 3 conditional or unconditional offers from local and overseas top-ranking universities earlier this year. Their remarkable performance of GCEAL exam allowed them to fulfil the requirements of the offers granted by world-renowned universities.

2. Ho Tsz Chun achieved A* in all 3 GCEAL subjects and was exceptionally admitted by the Department of Mathematics, University of Oxford at the age of 15. He and Yuen Tin Long, who was admitted by Imperial College of London, became the awardees of the Hong Kong Scholarship for Excellence Scheme. (https://hkses.edb.gov.hk/en/list-of-awardees-1819.html)
3. Nominated by the Principal under the High School Recommendation Admission Scheme, Yuen Pak Hin started the degree programme at the School of International Liberal Studies in Japan’s Waseda University. A-School is the pioneer among the local secondary schools to enter partnership with this acclaimed, long-established university in Japan. Eligible students nominated by the Principal will be admitted to the university directly.
