Exciting Experiential Learning Days in Grade 1

We just had to share the incredible activities that took place during our Experiential Learning Days in Grade 1 from 5th to 7th December. While other grades were busy with assessments, we had a blast engaging in hands-on learning experiences. Here's a glimpse of what we did:

LA Talk - UNICEF School Talk: Natural Disasters and Children:

We had a fascinating session with UNICEF, where we learned about natural disasters and their impact on children. It was an eye-opening discussion that helped us understand the importance of disaster preparedness and how we can support those affected.

Music - Ensemble instrument demonstration & Christmas Carol Practice:

We were amazed to see and hear different instruments, their unique characteristics and how they can be played together harmoniously. We also practiced our favorite Christmas carols, spreading the holiday cheer throughout the school.

Maths - Maths About Me:

Maths became even more fun as we discovered how it relates to our everyday lives. Through the "Maths About Me" activity, we explored mathematical concepts while learning interesting facts about ourselves. Who knew math could be so personal?

Chinese Author Talk:

We had the privilege of listening to a renowned Chinese author, 雅燕媽媽, who shared her experiences and insights into the world of storytelling. It was a great opportunity to expand our knowledge of Chinese literature and culture.

English - Llama, Llama, Where's Your Drama activity:

We dove into the exciting world of drama and storytelling with the "Llama, Llama, Where's Your Drama" activity. Through role-playing and creative expression, we learned the importance of empathy, communication, and teamwork.

Science - Designing and Building an Air Powered Balloon Car:

In our science session, we put our engineering skills to the test by designing and building our very own air-powered balloon cars. It was a thrilling hands-on experience that taught us about the basics of motion, forces, and the power of creativity.

These Experiential Learning Days were truly unforgettable, filled with laughter, discovery, and the joy of learning together. A big thank you to our teachers for organizing such engaging activities that made learning come alive.
