Since its inception in 2010, the competition has been a resounding success, with over 1,200+ entries coming in from approximately 200 participating schools across Hong Kong, Macau and China in 2023. With the theme of "New Tales of China's Inventions," over 30 A-School students participated in the competition, producing exceptional pieces of work.

Lau Ho Yeung's exceptional writing on "The Invention of Gunpowder in China" earned him the prestigious Plus Group Award for Non-fiction Group 1.
