STEAM Week: Fun with STEAM

A-School aims at developing students’ science, technology, engineering, and mathematics skills. Therefore, our STEAM Week was organized from 5 – 9 June 2023. The theme this year was “Fun with STEAM”. Through various fun activities organized, students could develop key skills including problem-solving and creativity. There were activities hosted by the STEAM and Integrated Science (IS) departments, including workshops as well as STEAM and Integrated Science game booths.

Our Grade Ones to Grade Sixes enjoyed the interesting STEAM and IS game booths during lunch recess. The game booths included Air Cannon, an archery challenge, and auto turning car amongst others. Students could exchange STEAM gifts after participating in each of the game booths.

Our STEAM week was not just confined to the ground floor but rather extended into each of the classrooms. Our Grade Ones to Grade Sixes had different projects, for example, rubber-powered racing cars and airplanes, hovercraft, bell circuits, periscopes, and parachutes. The hands-on experience allowed our students to understand the working principle of their project.

It's great to see our students embracing STEAM education and teachers providing such engaging and enriching experiences for our students. We can't wait to see what STEAM Week brings up next year!
