Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area K16+ Education Innovation Alliance Sister School Contract Agreement Ceremony

On March 14, 2019, representatives of A-School, Guangzhou Panyu Huashi Fuzhong Panyu Primary School and Guangzhou Huashi Fuzhong Panyu School attended the “Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area K16+ Education Innovation Alliance Sister School Agreement Signing Ceremony”, during which the three schools signed Sister School agreements to allow each other to foster the development of education in the Greater Bay Area in various aspects from pedagogical research, school management, curriculum development to student exchange, as well as expanding the K16+ Alliance .

The ceremony was hosted by the Director of Guangzhou Huasheng Education and Culture Development Company Limited, Ms. Xu Hong, witnessed by the Section Head of Panyu Education Bureau, Mr. Zeng Weijie and the Secretary of the China Association for Non-Government Education, Mr. Nie Yakun, our Chief Principal Dr. Benjamin Chan signed the Sister School agreement with the Principal of Guangzhou Huashi Fuzhong Panyu School, Mr. Liao Yaoliang, and Principal of Guangzhou Panyu Huashi Fuzhong Panyu Primary School, Mr. Yu Shiqiang.

In the future, the three schools will make full use of their respective educational strengths to explore and share innovative pedagogies, promote teachers’ professional development, strengthen exchanges and interactions among students, and develop education programmes for Greater Bay Area. The partnership will certainly widen the horizons of teachers and students, enrich teaching experience, enhance mutual recognition, and promote educational cooperation and exchanges among the three parties.

After the ceremony, the representatives enjoyed the music concert “Song of the Spring” held by Panyu Primary School. Afterwards, they visited the sizeable campus of Panyu School and listened to the introduction by Principal Liao of the achievements of the school. The principals of the three sister schools took the opportunity to discuss the way forward with a view to creating more exchange opportunities for students. Panyu School planned to visit A-School later in this school year for an in-depth exchange.

The K16+ Education Innovation Research Center and Alliance of Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area aims to link the top quality schools to create a strong education and exchange platform in the Greater Bay Area. The schools with the same vision and educational quality form an alliance to interact and learn from each other, hence, improve the education. Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area K16+ Research Center and K16+ Education Innovation Alliance is an educational platform initiated by the National Institute of Education Sciences of Ministry of Education, the Hong Kong Baptist University United International College Education Foundation and other quality educational institutions from Guangdong, Macao and Hong Kong. Referring to the name “K16+”, “K” means Kindergarten, "16" represents the sixteen grades from kindergarten to university and "+" refers to the post-university lifelong learning. The K16+ Alliance will build an education innovation research platform in Greater Bay Area and gather the strengths from all parties in the society to share resources, promote exchanges, and foster the development of education in Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao.
