News date

At the beginning of the school year, members of Excel 33P, a tailor-made leadership training programme for Grade 4 to Grade 6 students, were encouraged to take the initiative to invite their heroes to come to A-School and share their inspirational stories.

The students were very excited to receive a positive reply from Professor Yuen Kwok Yung, Chair of Infectious Diseases, Department of Microbiology, Faculty of Medicine, the University of Hong Kong, a wide known specialist in infectious diseases and the anti-epidemic hero in the outbreak of 2003 SARS.   On December 1, an open forum entitled “Up Close and Personal with Professor Yuen Kwok Yung” was held for the students and parents of Primary Division. Professor Yuen talked about his research work, the difficulties and the efforts made by the team during SARS with over 350 attendees.  He also shared the qualities of a successful person.  At the same time, Professor Yuen also pointed out that the talents and characteristics of each student are different, and thus parents should explore their kid’s expertise and cultivate it patiently.

G6 student, Tse Pui Hei, who took the lead to invite Professor Yuen, was overjoyed.  She expressed that she learnt a lot from Professor Yuen and his sharing stimulated her interest in microbiology.  She learnt how to contribute to the society in future, and committed to trying her best to pursue her dreams, making the impossible possible.

A-School is always dedicated to providing various platforms and ample opportunities for students so that they could develop their potential in an all-round and balanced environment.  The school will continuously offer a quality teaching and learning environment, paving the way for producing future talents.
