2018 Graduate entered University of Oxford and received scholarship
Class 2018 graduate Ho Tsz Chun achieved flying colours in the GCEAL examination and was exceptionally admitted by the University of Oxford at the age of 15. His remarkable result has earned himself a scholarship to finance his study in Oxford by the Hong Kong Scholarship for Excellence Scheme (HKSES).
Set up by the government, the HKSES aims to support local students to pursue studies in world renowned universities outside Hong Kong, with a view to grooming a top cadre of talents with global vision, international network and world-class education, thereby contributing to enhancing Hong Kong’s competitiveness as Asia’s World City in a globalised knowledge economy. With the assistance, Tsz Chun planned to further his passion for Mathematics by completing both bachelor and master degrees in Mathematics in the course of four years. He hopes to be an actuary or dive into the innovative technology industry when he graduates.
Tsz Chun joined A-School since Grade 1 in 2008. His mathematical talent was discovered at an early stage. He began to take Grade 7 Mathematics course when he was in Grade 4. During his time in A-School, Tsz Chun skipped class twice from Grade 5 to Grade 7 and from Grade 9 to Grade 11. In 2015, 12-year-old Tsz Chun took the Mathematics paper in the HKDSE and became the youngest candidate to achieve 5**.
