On 17 May 2026, our brilliant students took the stage at the 21st Hong Kong Primary and Secondary School Students Japanese Speech and Verse Speaking Contest, organized by the Society of Japanese Language Education Hong Kong. They proudly brought home the Grand Championship in the Secondary Section Storytelling Competition — for the fifth year in a row! Truly a legendary streak! 👏🏻🎉

They mastered the classic Japanese folktale "Urashima Taro"—the story of a kind fisherman who saves a sea turtle, celebrates at a magical underwater dragon palace, and returns to land only to face a sudden, mysterious surprise.
Our Grade 7 team was the youngest among all the finalists in Hong Kong. Facing older and highly experienced students, our team rose to the challenge without hesitation. Performing in front of a distinguished panel of judges, including Ambassador Miura Jun (Consul-General of the Consulate-General of Japan in Hong Kong) and more than 10 directors from various Japanese Prefectural Government HK Representatives, the team impressed everyone. Winning the championship meant receiving congratulations and blessings directly from these distinguished professionals—a core memory they will cherish forever.💫
Sustaining this gold standard of excellence for five consecutive years is a rare and remarkable milestone!🏆 It reflects not only the dedication of our students but also the strength and vision of our Modern Languages programme.
