Sailing on a Sea of Books

News date

To foster students’ reading habits in both Chinese and English, two reading programmes were conducted on 30 March and 1 April respectively. The topics of the Chinese reading programme revolved around Creativity and Writing, while the English reading programme focused on Animations and Reflection.

Having attracted more than a hundred Grade 7 and Grade 8 students, the two reading programmes allowed students to flex their creative muscles through participating in parallel sessions hosted by our language teachers.

Apart from the reading programmes, more reading activities will take place in Term 2, including new initiatives such as Blind Date with a Book, Pop-up Mini Book Stores, and regular events such as Book Fairs.

Charles W. Eliot once said, “Books are the quietest and most constant of friends; they are the most accessible and wisest of counselors, and the most patient of teachers.” Let’s grab a book and enjoy reading!
