SS Chinese Drum Team’s Acclaimed Performances and Recognition
Our SS Chinese Drum Team has successfully completed their performance at the Hong Kong Institute of Directors' Annual Dinner cum Presentation of the Directors of the Year Awards (DYA) 2023. The event took place on 23 November 2023 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre.
It was an absolute honor for our Chinese Drum Team to be invited by our Chief Principal and Advisor of the Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra, Dr. Benjamin Chan, MH, to showcase their incredible talent at such a distinguished gathering. The Hong Kong Institute of Directors (HKIoD) and its members are known for their contributions in inspiring the director's community through educational programs, networking activities, and information services.
Our Chinese Drum Team has been achieving remarkable milestones throughout their journey. They have won different awards at numerous competitions such as the Hong Kong Joint School Music Competition 2022 and the Hong Kong Drum Festival - Hong Kong Synergy 24 Drum Competition. The team also had the privilege of undergoing specialized Chinese Drum Training in Shanxi, led by the renowned Shanxi Jiangzhou Drum Troupe (山西絳州鼓樂藝術團). Their performances have also graced events like the "One Beat, One Community: Connecting Through the Drum" organized by the Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra in Shatin Park and the 74th Anniversary Celebration of the National Day of the People's Republic of China.
We would like to express our deepest gratitude to our esteemed coach, Mr. Leung Ching Kit, whose guidance, expertise, and passion have inspired our Chinese Drum Team to reach new heights. We also extend our heartfelt appreciation to the parents who have been an integral part of this incredible journey.
We couldn't be prouder of our SS Chinese Drum Team for their outstanding performance at the HKIoD Annual Dinner. Their dedication, talent, and hard work have truly shone on the stage. Let's continue to support and celebrate the achievements of our talented musicians!
