T-Park Tour

Our Biology students along with environmental ambassadors, recently had the extraordinary opportunity to visit T·Park in Tuen Mun. The visit was an enlightening experience, as T·Park stands as Hong Kong's inaugural sludge treatment facility, implementing an advanced technology known as "fluidized bed incineration" for the efficient management of sewage sludge derived from treatment works across the city. Noteworthy for its waste volume reduction capabilities of up to 90% after the treatment, which tremendously reduces the load of the landfills. The electricity generated during the process can support the daily operations of the facility and even supply the electricity network!

Under the expert guidance of an experienced staff, our students were privileged to partake in a guided tour that encompassed a comprehensive understanding of the intricate procedures involved in sludge treatment. This facilitated the development of a profound comprehension among our students regarding the utmost importance of sustainable living practices and the imperative nature of environmental conservation.
