Cultural Exchange with JIS

In early February, our Grade 6 Japanese language students stepped out of the classroom and into the vibrant atmosphere of the Japanese International School (JIS)! From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with tremendous enthusiasm, as JIS students lined the entrance, waving and welcoming us with bright smiles.😊

The day was a delightful blend of language and culture:

• Bilingual Brilliance: During the opening ceremony, students from both schools showcased impressive introductions, fluently presenting in both Japanese and English.
   
• Traditional Fun: We kicked off the day with traditional Japanese games! From the focus required for Kendama to the excitement of ball-throwing games, our students immediately immersed themselves in Japanese culture.
   
• In the Classroom: Our Grade 6 students joined their JIS peers for authentic subject classes. Whether practicing Japanese Calligraphy, enjoying the rhythms of Music, or collaborating in PE, it was a true "day in the life" experience!
   
• Bento & Bonding: Lunchtime was a highlight! Sharing lunch boxes and engaging in casual conversations allowed for genuine friendships to blossom beyond the confines of textbooks.
