Arts Festival 2022-2023

News date

The Arts Festival this year took place smoothly from 24 to 28 April 2023. The opening ceremony kick started with music performances by the Percussion Band, Handbell Team and AD Course featured item -- A Cappella. Following that, our art teachers provided a guided tour of the exhibitions.

Exhibits were spread across the campus, showcasing our G7-9 Artist-in-Residence Project: Carton Sculpture, G10 Artist-in-Residence Project: Imagination of our Landscape, G11 Artist-in-Residence Project: Cityscape, as well as selected artworks from G7-12 VA classes and AD Courses 2023 (3D drawing, leather making, paper upcycling, ceramic and jewellery design).

Poetry and music performances were presented by students from English Literature and Music Teams. Highlights from Solo Competitions of JSMA/Music Festival 2023 were also brought to stage during the lunchtime concerts. Students also presented their learning outcomes in playing pop band, cajon, and dubbing from the AD Courses and Composition Projects. Moreover, to encourage student involvement in the music environment, they were invited to “Share the Stage” by conducting the SS Orchestra in performing Bolero under the guidance of Dr. Andrew Hon, our Director of Music and Performing Arts.

We hope all students enjoyed the Arts Festival and let’s look forward to the Variety Show to be held next!
