The International Parliamentary Debate Competition (IPDC)

This year, our English Debating Team has taken a new challenge to compete in an international debate match - The International Parliamentary Debate Competition (IPDC). The IPDC requires debaters' quick thinking, flexibility and powerful oratory to discuss current topics and global issues under immense time pressure. During the Lunar New Year holiday, two teams, comprised of 9D IP Chun Hei Aidan and 9D LI Jonathan David Kwong Hang (Junior), and 10E CHEUNG Yee Ying and 10E LI Mischa Keona (Senior), participated in the 2-day match to compete with debaters worldwide.

Despite the demanding nature of the competition, the teams won the first round and the senior team who defeated the debaters in the 3 Preliminary Rounds and Quarterfinal has been named semi-finalist. With 10E CHEUNG Yee Ying's skills in forming compelling arguments, she was awarded the Best Rebuttal Speaker Award.
